Qualification Program for Postdocs

In summer semester 2015, Freiburg Research Services launched a transdisciplinary qualification program intended especially for researchers in the career phase between the doctorate and the professorship.

The program addresses the needs of postdoctoral researchers pursuing an academic career as well as those interested in professions outside the university and is open to members of all faculties at the University of Freiburg except the Faculty of Medicine. It includes courses designed especially for postdoctoral researchers as well as joint workshops for doctoral candidates and postdocs.

Other Courses at the University of Freiburg

• The Freiburg Academy of Continuing Education (FRAUW) offers internal continuing education and training courses for all University of Freiburg employees. Most of the courses focus on administrative and technical topics.
• The course program offered by the Teaching and Learning Department is open to all teaching staff at the University of Freiburg. The department is associated with the “Center for Teaching and Learning of the Baden-Württemberg State Universities (HDZ).”
• The E-Learning Service Point is the University of Freiburg’s central service department for questions concerning the use of digital media in teaching, research, and administration. The E-Learning Service Point and the Teaching and Learning Department offer a qualification program for e-learning in higher education for University of Freiburg teachers.
• The University Library (UB) holds small-scale training courses for members of the University of Freiburg on using library holdings and searching for information as well as on individual focus areas.
  The project “EXIST – The Entrepreneurial University” offers continuing education, advising, and coaching on entrepreneurship for those interested in founding their own business.

• The University of Freiburg’s Language Teaching Centre (SLI) offers a variety of language courses in various languages and for learners at different skill levels. The program is open to all members of the University of Freiburg.
