Application Training for the Non-Academic Job Market
Doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers from all disciplines. Postdoctoral researchers in the faculty of medicine cannot participate in the workshop.
It is a long way until you might be able to sign a contract, a way full of obstacles. Basically you have to advertise for you and your abilities.
In this workshop you will think about yourself and what you are especially good at. Then you get to know everything about the standards of writing a letter of application and the CV correspondent to the region you will apply and how to pass the job-interview successfully.
Key aspects:
- What are you good at? What are your strengths?
- Letter of application: what are the standards?
- CV
- Documents
- Job interview: structure and typical questions
After taking part in this workshop you will
- be able to apply successfully for the adequate job
- be able to write both solicited and unsolicited applications
- know the exact content of an application letter and will have started writing it
- have developed your own CV
- be able to persuade the job-interviewer by phone or in a personal conversation
- know typical questions of an interview and how to handle them
Theoretical input, discussions, exercises.
None. You have the opportunity to bring your applications for a check.
